The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) recently recognized those individuals and businesses that have been providing in-kind services to the foundation in the last year. Marilyn Bok, Board Chair, stated, “It is hard to imagine the foundation reaching its present level of success without these generous contributions.”
The Board of Directors recently presented each of them with a small token of their gratitude, a Certificate of Appreciation suitable for framing.
Recognized were CQ Services of Sayre for the design, hosting, and updating of the CFTT website: twintierscf.org. “Thanks to their generosity the foundation has had a website since its inception and they have recently completed a website makeover for the foundation to meet our growing needs,” stated Bill Ransom, treasurer.
Citizens & Northern Bank of Towanda was recognized as being a consistent supporter of the foundation from the beginning and stepped forward and offered the CFTT a free checking account which it still maintains.
In addition, attorney David Keeffe, of Desisti and Keeffe of Sayre up until the time of his death was acknowledged for providing the foundation with free legal services while Heidi Wiles of LaBarr & LaBarr Accounting Services of Sayre provided accounting services.
Since the foundation does not presently have its own set of offices it must rely on other organizations for providing meeting room space for its board and committee meetings. It therefore recognized the Guthrie Healthcare System, Lackawanna College, and the First Bank of Canton for providing the foundation with free meeting room space.
Free advertising for the carrying on the work of the Foundation was provided by Blue Ridge Cable Public Service Channel, Eagles Mere Cablevision, Haefele TV, Time Warner Cable Channel 18 and WATS Broadcasting Inc.
The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is a non-profit public charity established in 2002 that encourages community philanthropy to enhance the quality of life for those who reside in Bradford, Sullivan and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York State.
The mission of the CFTT is to continuously improve the present and future quality of life in the counties served by the Foundation. It establishes endowment funds from contributions of many individual citizens, corporations, other foundations, other charitable organizations and government agencies for charitable purposes. As the endowment funds grow, the interest earned on these funds is returned to the community in the form of grants.
