Sullivan County Unrestricted Fund Established at the
Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers
The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is pleased to announce that the Sullivan County Unrestricted Fund has been established to meet the needs of Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. Beginning in 2007 grants from this fund will be available for Sullivan County programs and projects.
The Sullivan County Advisory Board will assist the CFTT Board of Directors in determining the most pressing needs in Sullivan County. Once determined, requests for proposals will be requested for projects and programs that will meet the determined needs.
The Sullivan County members of the CFTT Board of Directors are Anastasia McMahon-Farrell, Newton Pendleton, and Robert Raff. Newton Pendleton, Board Vice Chair stated: “The Sullivan County Board members are indeed excited that this county fund is now in a position to serve the needs of Sullivan County residents.”
He went on to say, “The more donations that are received the more they will be able at assist worthy causes in Sullivan County. Donations are of extreme importance for major growth of this fund that will allow for more grant funds to be given out in Sullivan County.”
CFTT serves Bradford, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York State. It is a purely public charity, incorporated as a non-profit, that has been granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS. The mission of the CFTT is to continuously improve the present and future quality of life in the counties served by the Foundation.
The CFTT establishes endowment funds from contributions of many individual citizens, corporations, other foundations, other charitable organizations and government agencies for philanthropic purposes. As the endowment funds grow, it uses the earnings from these funds to make grants to organizations or projects that serve identified community needs or are designated by the donor.
