Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers Presents its 2006 Annual Report

At its annual meeting held recently at the Towanda Country Club in Wysox, PA the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) presented the Foundation’s fourth annual report to the community. The theme of this year’s report is Building a Path to Tomorrow. The CFTT sees its job as connecting people who care with causes that matter. As Board Chair, Marilyn Bok said, “People don’t give to us they give through us. We are just a vehicle they can use to reach their philanthropic goals.”

The report highlights the fact that the CFTT was the fastest growing community foundation in Pennsylvania in 2006. It has over a quarter of a million dollars in assets and fourteen funds under management. The new funds for 2006 include the Keeffe Reward Fund, the Athens Area School District Academic Achievement Fund, the Finkle Rosenberg Scholarship Fund, the Athens Area School District Academic Activity Fund, and the Unrestricted Funds for Sullivan County and Tioga County, PA, and for Tioga County, New York.

In addition the Foundation has three Agency Endowment Funds for the Carantouan Greenway, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the CFTT. There is also the Jordan Wilcox Pediatric Cancer Fund which is a Field of Interest Fund and the Victor and Carla Ross Scholarship Fund for graduates of Bradford County high schools. There are also two more Unrestricted Funds: one for Bradford County and one for all four counties served by the foundation set up at the Foundation to provide funds to address community needs in the region.

Once an endowment fund is established any member of the public can donate any amount to any of these funds. The Annual Report for 2006 explains how the Foundation operates; the different ways people can contribute to the Foundation, and also lists all the donors to the Foundation.

The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is a non-profit public foundation established in 2002 by a diverse group of local leaders and residents. The Foundation encourages community philanthropy to enhance the quality of life for those who reside in Bradford, Sullivan and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York State. It is one of over 700 community foundations in the United States.

The mission of the CFTT is to continuously improve the present and future quality of life in the counties served by the Foundation.
