The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers works hard to develop meaningful relations with professional advisors. This is important because most perspective donors are working with their professional advisors – attorney, accountant, broker, banker, trust officer, life insurance agent, and financial planner – as they make major decisions. Great opportunities to make significant charitable gifts often arise when major business, personal or financial decisions are made.
Professional advisors are trusted by their clients. They are usually knowledgeable about their clients’ assets and long term needs. They may even know their life values. These are all factors that influence charitable giving. Therefore, it is important for the Community Foundation to have strong, trusted relationships with these influential advisors in order to communicate more efficiently with prospective donors. When their clients want to give back to their community they should look at the services we provide for we can offer services that could help them better serve their clients.
The Community Foundation wants all professional advisors to know these three things about Community Foundations:
- Community Foundations serve donors by supporting their multiple charitable intents and changing charitable interests. Our services are board and flexible.
- We understand that the primary motivation of advisors is to do what’s best for their clients.
- We are the best vehicle to help fulfill donors’ charitable needs and advisors’ business needs; we are not just another “charity.”
